Explorers Claim Discovery of World's Largest Cave
A team of 13 British and Vietnamese explorers have returned from the Vietnamese jungle bearing evidence of what could be the world’s largest cave. The main chamber of Hang Son Doong, or Mountain River Cave, is some 650--feet tall and 500-feet long. The cave in its entirety could worm for several miles through the earth, according to the team’s preliminary survey. If these measurements hold, the cave is nearly twice as large as the former record holder.
