For last 1 year i was an active reddit user and so, i collected around 2000+ Karma... Actually, here i found that reddit is having very interesting contents with a very catchy titles. But when a user submits a story most probably he is getting negative votes and led to karma down. Other sites like digg, StumbleUpon, etc.. they mostly prefers the Top Users or the Most Active users to strike the front page but reddit don't do such types of activity, it strikes the front page firstly depend upon "the story content or the photo, then it depends upon the title- which should be catchy and interesting, then the appropriate category given to it and at last vote of the users must 2:3 positive votes shows that your content is enjoyed by the majority reddit users.

No Problem with your own blog's content.
Other Social Bookmarking site, the posting your own content is highly restricted but reddit do not pose any such restriction.... But I should tip you that you don't post the bad content of any " subdomain blog blogspot.com " are very much disliked by the other reddit users.. and results to vote down in a large quantity.
Title should be interesting to list your content over reddit. First of all you should have to keep a good impression over the subreddit and then it will automatically forward to the front page depending upon the amount of votes...
