Laika, a first dog to space.

Laika, a first dog who reached the orbit of the Earth and was a Space Dog of Soviet. The Scientists at that time had a little knowledge about the living things at the space. Few scientist believde that it is not easy to survive for the human on the launch or the condition of the outer space may not be suitable for human. So, the engineers wants any non-human for the Space mission test in the place of humans. That is why they choosen Laika ( a dog ) for this man mission. As US used a Chimpanzee on its mission, Soviet used a Dog. Laika was a stray dog and was named as Kudryavka originally. Laika was underwent training with two other dogs was choosen for this mission of Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 , and was launched into outer space on November 3, 1957. It died within the few hours of the launch due to the overheating of spacecraft in the thermal control system. But the real cause of heating was not made public to the people. In 2002, it was widely reported that she lived for several days. On April 11, 2008, Russian officials unveiled a monument to Laika.
